2.2 Company Code Explanation

MP8 provides a set of codes pertaining to all the Unit of measures, list of countries and currencies.

By default, MarginPoint 8 provides standard code definitions for a variety of different categories. By default, all codes in each of the following categories are made available to each company.

  • Countries: List of all countries
  • Currencies: List of all currencies
  • Unit of Measure which includes the following:
  • (Length): inch, cm, mm, etc.
  • (Weight): kg, lb., grams, etc.
  • (Volume): Cubic feet, cubic inches, etc.
  • (Other): each, box, coil, case, carton, cup, etc.

These codes are universal international standard codes, and cannot be changed. If the system administrator has granted the required privileges, a user can remove codes not needed by a company. Restricting the number of codes available limits the number of items that show in drop-down lists.

For example, if a company is doing business only in a few countries, an administrator may choose to eliminate most country codes so that users see only relevant countries in drop-downs throughout the application.

Type in a value to filter the data for the current company code selection and press the tab key. Now the codes that match the current filter will be displayed. Once the desired code is found, place a check next to them. Remove the ‘X’ to the left of the filter to turn off the filter function.
