8.3 Creating a New Stocking Location

To create a new stocking location

  1. At the far left of the home screen, click the Company tab to display the company navigation tree.
  2. In the Company Tree, click the company to which the new inventory location will belong.
  3. In the menu bar, click the Administration drop-down.
  4. Click the Location option in the drop-down.
  5. The Administration> Location>View Location Hierarchy ribbon bar will appear.
  6. In the ribbon bar, click New Stocking Location in the Manage Locations Picture5-2
  7. The Inventory Location window will open with three tabs: Details, Device Details, and Custom fields.
  8. Click the Parent Location drop-down and select the location where the inventory will be located.
  9. Type the name of the location in the Location Name
  10. Click the Location Type drop-down and select the type of location to be created. Picture6-2
  11. Type a description of the location in the Description
  12. Type a string of characters that will help you remember the name of the new location in the Mnemonic The mnemonic must be unique within each company. It is included in communications between MarginPoint 8 and scanners or POUs.
  13. If custom fields have been defined, click the Custom Fields tab and enter the requested information.
  14. Click Save to save the new location
