The MarginPoint devices require six specific points of information in order to communicate with MarginPoint 8. These can be thought of as the shipping address for a home. Each device type will need to know the following information in order to connect and route data accordingly. Please note this information should be created in advance of the setup of each device and is typically done by the System Administrator.
POU Parameter Configuration
Within MarginPoint 8 the location hierarchy should be viewed from the bottom level node or Mnemonic and the immediate parent (area mnemonic) and grandparent (site mnemonic) are required for the device to communicate. The organizational location structure may consist of more location groupings such as rooms, floors, area's above these levels as long as the three end nodes are as outlined in the table above.
