What and how to classify an item
A classification is a method of classifying items in the system. Items may be contained in multiple classifications. For example, an item might be classified according to the UNSPSC code set and also in other classification systems, such as catalog categories.
Each classification is set up for a specific company, and is available to all child companies.
MarginPoint 8 also supports an unlimited number of user-defined classification types. Common classification types include:
- Product
- Model
- Region
- Catalog
Classification are managed with use the of the Excel Add-in tool. Please refer to the MarginPoint Excel Add-in User Guide for steps to manage these classifications.
